Brownie Brittle?

004
I actually just learned about Brownie Brittle earlier today. I was scrolling through instagram and saw someone reference it as now being sold in a wholesale club (I believe it was Costco). I had never heard of the stuff, but thought it must be good if Costco’s was now carrying it.
My son and I are brownie fans. There is hardly a time when you can’t find a box of brownie mix in our cabinet so I immediately wanted to know more. I clicked on their instagram page and saw that many people were enjoying this new brownie thingy. What is brownie brittle? Later that day while scrolling through my instagram timeline (yes, of course I started following @browniebrittle), I saw that they were on sale at CVS for 2/$5. Great! I was planning a trip to CVS later that night to use a bunch of coupons that were expiring. Perfect opportunity to try something new.
005
When I first got home, I took everything out of the bags to look everything over. I don’t know about anyone else that does couponing but I definitely had a proud moment going over my receipts and seeing all the stuff that I got for super cheap at CVS. Then, I got my two bags of Brownie Brittle and popped one of them open. I couldn’t wait to see what all the hype was about.
This 4oz bag has a total of 4 servings with each serving being 120 calories. I just finished one whole bag so I can’t really say that I took advantage of the low calories per serving, but at least that lets you know that they are good. :-) Although, my son wasn’t too happy with me finishing the bag without him. Ooops, well…I did leave a few crumbles.

007
My final verdict is:: I loved them and my son loved them! I would definitely recommend @browniebrittle especially if you are a brownie/cookie lover. It tastes just like a chocolate chip brownie, with a soft crunch (definitely not as hard as brittle).
006
And…guess what?? They also have other great flavors as well. Go to www.browniebrittle.com for more info. Plus who doesn’t love to hear about a woman who is following her passion and making people smile with the love she puts into these little treats. Great Job Sheila G!

Murderer! Shoe Assassin! Judge and Executioner!….But what did my shoes ever do to you??
I mean c’mon?!!
My dog has put to death TOO many of my shoes and I am NOT happy!
279278

I sure thought he was over this stage in life.   He chewed shoes as a puppy and I learned my lesson then, but he’s been around lots of shoes since that time and hasn’t touched them. So why has he now taking up destroying my shoes again? They did nothing to him. One week before he destroyed the last pair of peep toe heels (pictured above) he destroyed my last pair of black flats. The black shoes that I have left have minimal teeth marks but how embarrassing is it to wear shoes that look like they’ve been chewed on. I ain’t gone do it, not even for the vine. I truly believe that he is being vindictive at this point. He has plenty of toys and bones to enjoy so the issue has to run deeper. Maybe he’s punishing me for leaving him outside too long (for some reason he doesn’t care to stay outside a long time) or maybe he’s making me suffer because I frequently lock him out of my room.  He will scratch at my door until he falls asleep. Sometimes a girl just needs some “me” time. When I open my door he’s napping so sweetly.
:-)We as women can never have too many pairs of black shoes. There is the patent leather pointed toe heel, the everyday flats, the dressy flats, the cute leather peep toe, the kitten heel, the all purpose round toe heel, the suede low heels, the gettem girl heels, the gladiator sandals, etc. Black shoes come in all shapes and sizes and we don’t discriminate because they all have their purpose and function in the busy lives of women and not to mention the fact that black goes with everything. Well, my dog ate my LAST pair of black shoes. I don’t have any more so if you see me wearing different colored shoes (ie yellow, blue, leopard),  or brown flats with an outfit that clearly doesn’t have brown in it, just know that I’m working with what I have for the moment.
Which brings me to how cute he is (esp when he’s asleep). This little monster is the cutest thing ever to me. Of course I may be partial since I’m his “mom” but I truly believe he is adorable so discipline can be difficult at times. When I go to grab some newspaper to tap him on the nose…he quickly retreats with paws over his face and eyes closed tightly as if he’s begging me not to hit him. Why why why…does his cuteness get me. It makes it so hard to punish him. Anyway…Sometimes I love him and sometimes I strongly dislike him and think that putting him up for adoption may be best. I’ve tried the chew spray…doesn’t work. Anyway…I’m up for tips.

30 before 30 (bucket list)

Well here it is…My bucket list for turning 30. How many of you have already created one for turning 25, 30, 40, etc? Since we are already 5 months into this year, I need to get started. None of these are a stretch but things that I believe are achievable by the end of December (my 30th). I couldn’t fit everything I wanted to on this list but some other things I wanted to do is…
  • Make sure people that are placed in my life know that they are appreciated.
  • Finding little ways to make people smile
  • Thanking God for life anytime I feel a cool breeze across my face on a warm day.
  • Say something kind to a stranger each day
  • Dance like no one’s watch in a place where everyone is watching :-)
  • Plant a vegetable
Make your bucket list! :-) Even if you aren’t hitting a milestone age, make one for 2014 and finish this year by jumping a few small hurdles.

BTW…Has anyone seen The Bucket List
movie with Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman? Let me know your thoughts.

Dream Big Live Life

My mentor shared this clip with a group of people tonight and I don’t know what you will experience while listening to it but as it was playing, I felt like the Incredible Hulk, Chuck Norris and Rocky Balboa all combined into one. As I gazed around the room at some of the faces, I’m sure that I wasn’t the only one. Okay maybe I was alone on that part but they definitely felt it. I know I can be a little silly but I really feel like sometimes we have to be that determined and ready to tear up some stuff for our dreams (not literally of course). This world is such a cruel place and if our own mindsets, fears, past failures don’t discourage us someone else will. Truth be told it’s sometimes people we love and hold dear. We have to have a righteous indignation/a conviction about our dreams. An attitude not derived from anger but that relentless, try it if you want to, I’m not giving up type of attitude.
I want nothing more for people to have, live and experience fulfilled lives. Sometimes the ordinary just wont do (breaks out into the Ordinary Just Wont do by Fred Hammond) okay…I’m back. Sorry about that.  “Kanye Shrug” It happens. That’s the song though. Back to what I was talking about…
Don’t let anyone who doesn’t understand it, stop you from achieving it. I feel like one of the greatest gifts that God gave us was LOVE, but I also feel that the ability to dream and have visions is also one of the greatest gifts forged into our DNA.

Watch this for yourself:
Dare to Dream. Dare to Be Different. They just may not get it, but that’s quite alright.
Let me know your feelings…

The Gazelle and the Lion

One of my good friends had this on her “Inspiration Board” at work and I thought it was awesome.
Every day in Africa the gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be killed.
Every morning a lion wakes up. It knows that it must outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve to death.

Hope you are running today!
It doesn’t matter whether you are a lion or a gazelle. When the sun comes up, you better be running. -Abe Gubegna
